Five years after Mother Thérèse’s death in 1885, Superior General Mother Marie-Aimée Lautier, along with two other sisters, embarked on a journey to Sablières (Mother Thérèse’s birthplace) and Le Plagnal (Father Terme’s birthplace and place of death) from June 2 -10, 1890. During this trip, the sisters were particularly moved by the local people’s devotion to the founders of the Congregation.
Mother Lucie Rivain returned to Sablières and Le Mas in November 1929. Her goal was to secure ownership of the Couderc family’s property and carry out the necessary repairs–the cause for the canonization of the two founders had already begun.
